Acne scar treatment - find the best
A really common problem with acne sufferers is the scarring that can occur,
and knowing how to prevent or treat any acne scarring.
The first thing to note is that no acne scar treatment is going to work well
if you still have active acne, so you need to get this cleared first and then you will be able to
look for a suitable acne scar treatment.
There are a couple of acne scar removal treatments that are used widely in the
medical profession, these are:
Laser surfacing - a laser removes the damaged skin so that new skin can form.
This is still a fairly new procedure, but all indications are that it’s successful, as the
penetration level into your skin is quite easily monitored when compared to some other methods.
This can be done as an outpatient and will not normally need an overnight stay in a
hospital.
Dermabrasion – this method of removing acne scars has been around for many
years, and is fairly successful. It uses a scrapping method to remove the scarred skin to allow the
new skin to grow – so the skin will be smoothed out.
There are many other acne scar treatments that you could look at including
creams which you can buy over the counter at your local pharmacy. But as the scar are generally
caused by severe acne one of the best options is to try and prevent the acne scars happening in the
first place.
This means don’t ignore your acne, seek treatment for it in the early stages,
rather than waiting until it gets so bad that you have a job clearing it.
Also don’t pick! It is very tempting to pop spots and zits, but this is not
really a good idea and you are more likely to make your acne worse by spreading around the
infection.
Treat your acne when it occurs with a combination of creams or medications and
a healthy diet, and then your chances of needingng any acne scar treatment is going to be
reduced.
