Home Made Acne Treatments That Cause More Harm Than Good

Pure old wives’ tale!  Is quite honestly the best description for some of the suppossed home made acne treatments
that you find circulating on the internet these days.  They may sound ok, and you may think they will work, heck they
even may make sense.  But they are ill-advised and they can make matters worse for the person who has to endure an acne
breakout.

Here are some of the home made acne treatments that just do not deliver, and could even be dangerous for
acne victims:

-  Applying toothpaste on the infected are.  One question – why?!  Toothpaste has fluoride.
Fluoride is only good for the teeth.  Toothpaste has calcium.  Calcium has nothing to do
with zits nor the rejuvenating properties of the skin.  Toothpaste is made up of thick,
sticky paste.  It doesn’t take a genius to figure out that toothpaste will just clog up the
pores of the skin, which will further trap sebum and promote the infestation of acne-
causing bacteria.

- A mixture of white sugar, brown sugar and water, applied on the infected area.  Again,
one question – why?!  Sugar is composed of small particles that may not only scratch the
skin and further irritate your acne, they may also clog up the pores of your facial skin, and
by now you know how unfavorable that may be.

- Solutions that use lime juice.  Indeed, lime juice is known for its restorative qualities.  But
lime juice is also known for its strong chemicals that can easily irritate sensitive skin.  Of
all the home made acne treatments mentioned here, this is the least dangerous but it is
also the most common mistake that often lead to more dire consequences.
