What is a natural acne treatment?
Many people swear by a natural acne treatment as these are often efficient at clearing up acne,
which after all is what you want.
Within a natural acne treatment remedy falls a well balanced healthy diet, herbs/vitamins, and
generally looking after your body.
Your Diet
It is often better for people that suffer with acne to stick to unprocessed food, so try and eat as
many fresh vegetables and fruit as you can. Keep away from refined sugars it at all possible. Also
don’t include fried foods, or trans fats in your diet. Aim to eat foods that contain omega 3 oils,
for instance flax seeds or sardines.
Drink as much water as you can, and aim for at least 8 glasses per day. Keep your fiber intake
up, so eat plenty of whole grain. This type of diet will help your body to rid itself of toxins and
keep it healthy.
Vitamins and Herbs
To reduce the amount of sebum your body produces, vitamin A is useful, but you need to be careful
and not take too much as very high doses of this vitamin can cause muscle pain, headaches and other
symptoms.
Two recognised natural acne treatments are zinc sulfate and zinc gluconate. Zinc is known to
reduce inflammation, so increasing the amount of food that you eat contain zinc gluconate or zinc
sulfate is beneficial, this food includes poultry, red meats and seafoods.
Vitamin B6 is also beneficial for ladies when taken mid cycle or pre menstrual.
A particularly effective natural acne treatment is a mix of burdock, yellow dock, cleavers
extracts and sarsaparill in equal amounts. These particular herbs are said to cleanse the blood.
Take 1/2 a teaspoon three times a day. This works best if used in conjunction with a healthy diet
as mentioned above.
Teatree oil is also helpful in the treatment of acne – this needs to be applied directly to the
acne outbreak as it helps to get rid of the facteria and to reduce any inflammation.
